Special Group Packages
We offer an extremely flexible service for groups. These are some of the packages we regularly offer:
- Groups mixed in with our summer Young Learners Holiday Course (age 10-16) or our adult General English course (age 16+).
- English lessons in the mornings, social activities in the afternoons / evenings and excursions at the weekend.
- English lessons and accommodation only, all activities and excursions organised by the group leaders.
- Intensive language course plus weekend excursions.
- Accommodation and use of classrooms only.
Who are special group packages for?
- Young Learners age 10 – 16 (residential)
- Young Learners age 13 – 17 (homestay)
- Adults age 16+ (homestay)
Most of our groups are organised by schools and teachers, but others are organised by employers and government departments. Some contact us directly; others come through an agency.
How many students make a group?
Usually 10 or more. The biggest group we have ever accepted was about 100 students!
How long can a group stay?
Usually between one week and four weeks. Most groups stay for two or three weeks. Please note that for legal reasons, we cannot take groups age below 16 for more than 28 days.
Can we have free spaces for group leaders?
Yes, usually one per 10 or one per 15.
Can groups arrive and leave midweek?
Most groups arrive and leave at the weekend, but outside the summer, it may be possible to arrive and leave midweek.
Will the group be mixed with other students?
Students age 16+ may be able to join our General English classes.
During the summer, students age 10-16 are mixed in with our Young Learners Holiday Course for lessons, activities and excursions and (if required) accommodation.
Outside the summer, most young learner groups are taught in closed classes. If your group is large, we can divide the students according to level, but groups of 16 or less are usually taught as one class. Sometimes, if another group of a similar age is here at the same time as your group, it may be possible to have mixed classes if both groups agree.
What is a typical programme?
We can offer many different kinds of programme, but something like this is typical:
What teaching methods do you use?
We use Communicative Language Teaching, and for short-stay groups there is usually a strong focus on speaking and listening in order to improve the students’ confidence and fluency.
Will the students use a coursebook?
Probably not, unless there is a coursebook that exactly matches your group’s needs.
Can groups prepare for an exam?
Yes, we can run exam preparation courses for exams such as FCE, BEC, IELTS or TOEFL.
Will the students get a certificate?
Yes, they will get a certificate that says when they studied here and what level their English is now, plus a report from their teacher.

Typical Timetable
Four lessons every morning Monday – Friday 09:00 – 12:30. All lessons are 45 minutes. Activities every afternoon and evening. Full-day excursion every Saturday and one half-day excursion every week. Download PDF.
