The CollegeAccommodation

You can choose a variety of types of accommodation:

Homestay Accommodation / Private Home Accommodation

This is an excellent way to meet English people and practise the English language.

You will be the only person who speaks your language* in the house (unless you ask to be with a friend), and because you have to speak English every day, you will learn English faster.

The CollegeAt LTC, we are proud of our host families and the positive feedback they get from students.  We get feedback from all students and our homestay officer visits all our host families regularly to make sure:

All adult students have a single room (unless you ask to share with a friend).  Younger students may have to share, but this will be agreed when you book.
You will have breakfast and dinner with your host family, plus lunch at weekends.  Younger students will also have a hot lunch at the College during the week as part of their programme.

Please note: under British Council regulations, homestay families can have a maximum of four students.  We have a small number of host families which take more than four students.  These host families are classed as PRIVATE HOME ACCOMMODATION.

* Students who come to LTC as part of a group will normally be put in the same host family as another student from their group.   See Young Learner Summer School or Special Group Programmes for details

Residential Accommodation

studentsStudents age 10-16 on our Young Learner Summer School or Special Group Programmes can stay in residential accommodation in the College.  This is a safe environment for children and teenagers and a great place to make friends and have fun.

You will eat, sleep and study in our beautiful building, and you can use our garden and our sports facilities in your free time.

studentsMost of our dormitories have four or five beds, though some have more and two large rooms have ten beds.  The bathrooms are shared, but we always have at least one shower per 7 students.

In the girls' accommodation, there is at least one WC per 10 students.  In the boys' area, there are urinals and at least one WC per 11 students.

Residential students get a continental breakfast, a hot lunch and a hot dinner every day.  If you go on an excursion, you will have a packed lunch.
In summer, we may be able to find residential accommodation outside the College for adult students.  Ask us for details.

Apartments

Students who come on a long-term English language course may be able to find an apartment, possibly with friends.  If you are interested in this, it’s a good idea to book 4 weeks’ homestay to give yourself time to find a nice apartment after you arrive.

Student Self-Catering Accommodation

In July and August, we may be able to offer you self-catering accommodation in  shared house hich is used by university students the rest of the year.  You would have your own bedroom and would share the kitchen and bathroom with three or four other students.

Most student self-catering houses are about 20 minutes' walk from the College.

Hotels

There are many good hotels in Eastbourne if you prefer this option.  We usually recommend the Cherry Tree Hotel, a small and friendly Bed & Breakfast hotel not far from the beach.

Another good hotel is the Guesthouse East, a boutique hotel about 15 minutes' walk from the college, between the shopping centre and the beach.  It has modern self-catering apartments with double, twin and family rooms, all designed to a high standard.
